The Unseen creates: Color-changing jacket taps your brain to display your mood

Fashion studio The Unseen will present a sculptural jacket that changes colour depending on the wearer's mood during this month's London Fashion Week.

The Unseen's garment is able to translate human magnetism into visible colour patterns and was designed as part of a project called The Eighth Sense.

"An unseen force or 'aura' is outwardly emitted from every human as electromagnetic energy, these wavelengths through certain lenses can be seen as colour," the manifesto reads.

"The Unseen aim to discover and investigate this invisible energy field by using a physical garment that reads human magnetism coupled with the capture of EEG data. These biosignals are translated visually through our sculpture with the use of colour and pattern."

For Eighth Sense, the wearer is also equipped with an EEG (electroencephalography) headpiece, which communicates wirelessly with an app, created for the project by creative agency Holition. This app then wirelessly sends the data to the garment, which changes colour in response, from monochrome grays and blacks, to subtle pastels, to vibrant rainbow hues -- each of which indicates a different emotion.

"Red portrays anger, nerves and anxiety, whereas green reflects teaching, sociality and people. Blue reveals calming, truthfulness and peace, while white mirrors an inner state of sensitivity, intuitiveness and psychic ability," the website reads.

The garment will be unveiled during London Fashion Week, when visitors will be able to book a time to try the jacket on and receive a live aura reading.
