How to install OxygenOS on OnePlus One


OnePlus has officially launched OxygenOS, its mobile operating system based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. If you want to change and stop using CyanogenMod, here is the procedure that you must follow to install.

First you will need to download the ROM OxygenOS. Before starting the installation, you'll have to back up all data on your device because the operating system will completely reset your phone completely before installation. There is no other installation outside manual flash ROM of the device, but OnePlus ad work at an easier solution.

ADB and Fastboot on your computer must be installed (Windows, OS X or Linux) to achieve the full installation of OxygenOS.

You must flash your OnePlus One using TWRP for example. Simply download the backup image on his computer before pushing to the phone. For this, you can follow the instruction guide to complete the transaction or simply start the phone into fastboot mode by holding the power button and volume up button. When Fastboot logo appears, you can connect the OnePlus One to the computer.

You can then launch the terminal in order to enter the following commands after finding the folder where the backup image is located:

Windows
    fastboot oem unlock (if the bootloader of your phone is unlocked).
    fastboot flash recovery (The file must be the TWRP)
    fastboot reboot
OS X
    ./fastboot oem unlock (if the bootloader of your phone is unlocked).
    ./fastboot flash recovery (The file must be the TWRP)
    ./fastboot reboot

Step 2

We must now unpack oxygenos_1.0.0.zip and transfer oxygenos_1.0.0.flashable.zip file on the OnePlus One. You can use Android File Transfer if you're a Mac user.

Step 3

Restart the phone in recovery mode. For this, it is now the Power and Volume Down buttons on restart.

Step 4

When the menu appears, then you need a full reset to factory settings (Factory Reset). All data will be erased so it is important to have them saved in the beginning.

Step 5

Once done reboot, just now in the menu on the Install option and to indicate where the oxygenos_1.0.0.flashable.zip file is located. Once confirmed, the flash OnePlus One will start with the installation of OxygenOS.

Step 6

Once the flash on the managed device, simply restart the phone to take advantage of the new operating system. Note that OnePlus indicates some known issues with this first version of OxygenOS but it is also possible to make them up or ask questions on the forum dedicated OnePlus.
