If the G4 LG is about to put on sale, and represents the pinnacle of the range of Android smartphones for 2015, what are the plans of the company for 2016? Will we see the LG G5, if named, announced early next year? Rumors are already saying so, and begin to provide information on this smartphone.
The technology of iris recognition, which allows devices to identify you by scanning your eyes, could be the next big thing in biometric security, and could come in 2016 in the next LG flagship smartphone, the LG G5.
According to a publication from South Korea, the biometric specialist IRIENCE developed an iris scanner that will be included in the LG G5.
Apparently the company is still working on the technology, which means it is unlikely that it will happen in the future high-end smartphone from the Korean company, LG G4 rating, but should be ready by early the year 2016 - which could be just in time for the LG G5.
Everything is in the eye
IRIENCE working on reducing the recognition range of 30 to 50 cm, which means you will not have to press your face against the smartphone to unlock it. If this works, this means that a simple glance at LG G5 will unlock the device safely, while leaving the locked if someone tries to access it.
The iris recognition is much more advanced (and secure) as facial recognition, and it is much harder to fool.
If she could afford to unlock your smartphone much more easily, will she really be a flagship feature for the LG G5, or will it simply be rejected like other stuff? Not until the beginning of 2016 ...
