How to unlock a locked PDF file?

Whether you are a student or employee, you are no doubt already ripped hair on a recalcitrant PDF: unable to open, edit, copy and paste or print.
Of course, these restrictions are here to protect a document against copying or against a handling mistake, but what happens when one insists unlock a locked PDF file, and access this data?

Fortunately, there are PDFunlock the site that can help you unlock a locked PDF file.

From your computer, Dropbox or Google Drive, upload the PDF file and click Unlock !. If it has only authorization password, you win! The site will offer to download an "unbridled" version of your original document, but without the restrictions.

If the PDF is protected by a password, the site will tell you immediately.

Note there are two types of protection: Opening password and authorization password. The first prevents the opening and encryption within the document and the second allows you to set a bunch of permissions: Print, copy, paste, edit, etc.

The opening password will not only prohibit the opening of the PDF file, but will also encrypt the file with the 128bit RC4 algorithm. It will therefore outsmart the system by guessing the password with a specific software like PDF Password Cracker.

This will attempt to find the password by trying dictionary attacks to attack by brute force.

To use, just download and install it on your computer. Run the software and select the PDF file by clicking Open unlocked PDF (s).

PDF Password Cracker will try to decrypt the encrypted PDF document as RC4 algorithms 40 and 128 bit and AES. If the password is found in the word dictionaries contained in the software, or if it is not very strong, there is likely to find it.

If you are on a GNU / Linux system, you can use the open source PDF Crack GUI program. It has the same functionality as PDF Password Cracker.
