While you still can not buy the HTC One M9, it's never too early for a rumor about the HTC One M10, especially that which comes from a member of the company's staff.
The CTimes Japanese newspaper claims to have heard that Howard Lee (senior director of project management and electrical structure at HTC) mentioned that wireless charging will be a standard feature in the next flagship smartphone of the company.
Presumably this means that the HTC One M10, if the Taiwanese company continues its naming convention, could further occupy the HTC team, the HTC One More M9 that goes around the canvas for weeks.
So far, HTC has not shown much interest in wireless charging beyond a casual accessory for its smartphones. But perhaps the Galaxy Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge technology that have boosted the appeal of this characteristic.
HTC ONE M10: A new look
HTC also faces several challenges with technology compared to most of its competitors, since a metal shell and a wireless charging generally do not work well together. In other words, this characteristic could lead to a real change in the design of the next HTC flagship smartphone.
This is not necessarily a bad thing, because if the HTC One M9 looks amazing, there is a feeling that HTC rested on its laurels and has not really evolved its flagship smartphone since the first HTC One. In contrast, Samsung is almost started from scratch for the Galaxy S6. HTC can not stop there.
This rumor, even if it comes from an officer of the company, will have to be taken with a grain of salt. In addition, there is plenty of time before the One M10 is announced, so HTC could produce many prototypes to test various characteristics. Nevertheless, this could be a sign that HTC has big changes planned for its next flagship smartphone.
