C.H.I.P. is a mini Linux PC that costs $ 9

Is it possible to design a relatively powerful computer less than 10 dollars? Yes as C.H.I.P. shows This Mini-PC is announced at 9 dollars. Its size is ridiculous.

C.H.I.P is a concept of Mini PC that can offer you powerful enough components for a ridiculous price of $ 9. And it is incredibly compact PC. Its creator wants to raise funds with Kickstarter. When one sees this CHIP, you immediately think of a Rasperry Pi Mini and you are right. But C.H.I.P is even more compact than the 2 Pi Rasperry while enjoying the same components. One wonders how the creators of CHIP could arrange the components for such a compact size.

When you hear about Mini PC, you think of a box that can be connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse and that is exactly the case of CHIP But it also offers WiFi and Bluetooth built that are absent in the Rasperry Pi.

C.H.I.P. is already a success on Kickstarter

With the promises of his Harward, C.H.I.P. quickly attracted attention and even though the project still has 29 days on Kickstarter, we can say that it has already surpassed its goal. The team sought $ 50 000 and they already have 142 thousand dollars at a time when we write these lines. On the Kickstarter page, it says that CHIP is a computer for students, children, artists and inventors.

The characteristics of C.H.I.P are a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of disk space and support WiFi and Bluetooth. Its size is tiny (2 times less than a PC mouse). It is capable of running office tasks, enable Internet browsing and playing a few games Retro. Note that C.H.I.P. is based on Debian and there will be few basic applications and not hundreds of useless stuff.

But the main advantage of C.H.I.P. PC is that it is completely Open Source. This means that investors can have all the plans of components to build and expand this concept of Mini PCs. And to top it all, C.H.I.P. is supplied with a battery and that means it's a mobile device in itself.
