How to crack the iPhone's lock with brute force?

IP Box is a specific electronic unit that circulates in the black market for about 280 euros. Its purpose is simple and criticism proposes to crack the lock of an iPhone in a few hours.

To enter your iPhone's IP Box will branch with a USB converter and uses the technique of Brute Force, that is to say, he tries every possible combination to unlock your phone. It tests all four codes conceivable numbers until you find the right one. When it finds the code, it displays a small box.

Usually iOS has an anti brute force protection that blocks this kind of technique after 10 tests by resetting the iPhone. But IP Box manages to circumvent this protection mechanism by cutting the smartphone power just before the device memory only records the failed attempt. Then, the case continues as if nothing had his attempts!

However, it will be in the worst case 111 hours or a little less than 5 days counting 40 seconds per test. However, the advantage is that you will not have to interact with. It will be enough to leave it in a corner and not to deal with it.

Finally, this vulnerability has been fixed in iOS 8.2: a priori, a roller smartphone this version is supposed to be protected against this type of brute force.
