More and more cameras are equipped with GPS. This means that in the settings of your photo are its geographic coordinates. Basically when you send this picture to your social networks or email, we will be able to know where this photo was taken. That's good, but it is also "dangerous", anyone will be able to find your address just recovering your photos! Bread blessed for potential kidnappers godsend for geo-marketers godsend for dredgers online.
Not sure if your photos are geo-tagged?
To find out visit the geotagmypic.com site that will tell you the line and after a few seconds, as in the following two examples.
Photo geo-tagged
Picture not geo-tagged
I use photoscape to clear geo-tag. In fact I can do it on photoscape, but I almost never do it! Just go in exploring photoscape, make a right click on the thumbnail, then select "Delete INFORS Exif". This clears not only the location data but also all data about photo settings (aperture, shutter speed, brand the photo ...). Also note that it is possible to erase the "Exif" bulk data with batch processing option.
Geolocation a necessary evil?
Again, it seems that the geolocation pictures is very difficult to remove. Already because we do not know it exists and then because this geolocation data is rather vital to marketing guy. So we will be confronted once again with the lack of transparency of services that use the exif data of our photos.
how géolicaliser photos that do not have this data?
Well, this is precisely the second part of the geotagmypic.com tool provides the option to type an address in the search engine. Load an image (1), find the image via the search engine (2) place the tag in the exact spot (3), geo-tagging the image (4) and upload the photo (5).
